Meet The Physical Therapist
Charles J. Kay, L.P.T.
C.J. grew up in Youngstown, Ohio where he graduated from Liberty High School. From there, he moved south to Athens, OH to attend Ohio University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Sciences with an emphasis on Exercise Physiology. Upon graduation, C.J. entered Ohio University’s physical therapy program earning a Master’s of Physical Therapy degree. After relocating to Columbus in late 2004, he has been dedicated to providing physical therapy services to the people of central Ohio with an emphasis on orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, postural correction, and industrial rehabilitation. C.J. now lives in the Dublin area with his wife Kim and his two beautiful daughters, Ava and Leah. He is an avid golfer and loves to attend live events like baseball games or concerts.
C.J. chose physical therapy as a profession in order to better the lives of others by reducing impairments, functional limitations, and disability caused by disease and injury. He gets great satisfaction by improving the quality of life of his patients through reduction or elimination of dysfunctions caused by inflammation, weakness, muscle tightness, and/or postural impairments. C.J., who is a qualified general orthopedic physical therapist, is well versed in treating a variety of disorders. Conditions that he most often treats include low back pain, neck pain, numbness and tingling in the extremities, post-surgical therapy, as well as all types of joint pain. His treatment philosophies utilize the use of exercise, manual techniques, pain relieving modalities, home exercise programs, and patient education.
C.J. has taken an active role in the advancement of physical therapy by educating other healthcare providers and the public regarding the role of physical therapy in the modern medical paradigm. C.J. is continually educating himself by attending continuing education courses and seminars, as well as keeping current with the latest research. Through this education, he can provide his patients with the most advanced rehabilitation techniques and procedures available today.
